Research Interests
Julia hopes to make a dent in the world's water and energy problems. Prior to MIT, she worked as a sustainability consultant, helping design more energy-efficient and comfortable buildings. Her master's research developed a methodology for creating and calibrating models of building energy use at the urban scale. Her current research aims to make irrigation systems more water- and energy-efficient through component and system design. She loves to travel and has enjoyed the opportunity to work on irrigation systems in Morocco and Jordan.
