Bio

Dr. Bryony DuPont is an associate professor of Mechanical Engineering at Oregon State University and a visiting scholar in GEAR Center. Her research focuses on the design, analysis, and simulation of renewable energy systems at both distribution and grid scales, with special interest in offshore renewable energy like offshore wind, floating offshore wind, and marine energy devices. Bryony's work in GEAR Center is to spearhead new research initiatives in Decarbonization and Renewable Energy Systems at a global scale, focusing on hardware-based solutions for low-and middle-income areas and those communities most impacted by the climate crisis. She completed her PhD in Mechanical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University (2013) and currently holds a joint appointment at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory.
