Anne-Claire Le Hénaff - Master Student

Research Interests

Hi, my name is Anne-Claire and I'm currently a master student in Mechanical Engineering at MIT. After completing my undergraduate in France, I've worked in the US for 1 year and did R&D projects for various industries from materials science (SiC ceramics at Saint-Gobain) to optoelectronics (heat transfer in GaN laser diodes at SoraaLaser). I always try to bring my mechanical engineering skills on multidisciplinary projects, and now I wish to focus on game-changing projects for society and environment . In the GEAR Lab I'm working on the design of solar-powered desalination systems for the village scale in India, particularly on modeling and optimizing the energy flows to reduce further the system cost and make it accessible to the Indian market. I'm very interested in mechanical design and automated systems design, and I think studying at MIT is a great opportunity to build projects with other people and learn together in these areas.
